Da Vinci Tour

The Mona Lisa (1479 - before d. 1550) is also known as La Gioconda 1503-1506 If Vasari is correct, the portrait that Leonardo took to France, which was acquired by Francis I, is the Mona Lisa, who married in 1495 Francesco di Bartolomeo di Zanoli del Giocondo. The title "La Gioconda" could draw from this notable Florentine family name. But in Italian "gioconda" means a light-hearted woman. With a lasting effect on Italian art, it was a perfect portrait. The smile who gives his life, however, is a feature of many of Leonardo da figures. Several researchers have concluded that the portrait was worked over a long period, starting around (1505-1506 in Florence, and it was completed during peregrinations of Leonardo da Vinci in Milan or Rome.
